Why is my baby crying?

A newborn baby does three things: EAT, SLEEP, and CRY

Most babies eat every 2-3 hours, sleep in between and then cry when they need to tell you something.

If your baby is crying, go through this checklist:

  • Are they hungry?
  • Do they have a dirty diaper?
  • Are they too hot or too cold?
  • Are they tired?
  • Are they having gas pains?
  • Are they lonely and need to be cuddled?

Once you’ve figured out all those out, your baby may just need some soothing. Try singing this song in a soft voice: shushshushshushshushshush shush shush shushshush. That was my baby’s favorite song and it would quiet him down as long as I was singing and walking and gently bouncing up and down!!!

You will figure out what works best to sooth your baby. NEVER shake your baby! Their little heads can’t support themselves and shaking a baby can lead to brain damage and even death.

If your baby won’t stop crying and you’re getting frustrated, call someone to help.

There is always someone to help!
