The first couple months of your baby’s life is all about eating, sleeping, and being cuddled. Then, as they become more aware of their surroundings, it’s time to play!

Here are 3 favorites to play with your baby

PEEK A BOO

Cover your face with your hands or blanket then remove it quickly and excitedly say, “Peek a boo!” to your baby. At first, they will be surprised and then they will laugh and love it!! You can do this about 20 times in a row before they get bored😊

(You can read a book or find a CD with baby songs and nursery rhymes!)

PATTY CAKE

“Patty cake, patty cake, baker’s man,

Bake me a cake as fast as you can.

Roll it and pat it,

And mark it with a B,

And toss it up high for baby and me!”

(Hold your baby’s hands and clap them together. Now roll baby’s hands as you say, “Roll it”, Pat baby’s hand on their lap as you say, “Pat it”. Trace a B on their belly then and raise their hands in the air when you say “toss it up high for baby and me!”

THIS LITTLE PIGGY WENT TO THE MARKET

Squeeze one toe at a time while you say,

“This little piggy went to the market.

This little piggy stayed home.

This little piggy had roast beef.

This little piggy had none.

AND THIS little piggy cried wee wee wee, all the way home!” (tickle their belly as you say “all the way home”)

Playing with your baby isn't just FUN, it's how they learn.

Enjoy the giggles!
