Quitting is hard. I get it.

If someone told me that I had to stop eating chocolate during my pregnancy, I’m sure I’d panic.

Chocolate is my “go to”:

  • It helps me when I’m stressed.
  • It makes me happy.
  • Truth be told, I’m probably addicted to chocolate.

Are cigarettes, juuling, or vaping your “chocolate” ?

Talk about addicting! They say that quitting smoking is one of the hardest things to do.

But so important when you’re pregnant!

Here are some tips to quit smoking:

1. Go cold turkey.

2. Cut way back to ½ a cigarette a day.

When that fails,

Call the Tobacco Quitline at 1-800-QUIT-NOW

Or visit www.QuitWithUsLA.org

The Quitline is confidential and staffed with people who understand the unique needs of pregnant women.

This is why smoking during pregnancy is dangerous:

  • Sudden Infant Death Syndrome ( SIDS ) Devasting!
  • Low birth weight and underdeveloped lungs which keeps them in the hospital. The best place for your newborn baby is in your arms, not in an incubator!
  • You wouldn’t let your baby smoke, but it’s kind of like that when you smoke when you’re pregnant.

I know it’s hard to quit, I know it’s hard to cut back…

But try.

For you and for your sweet baby, just try.

You can't QUIT until you START trying to quit.

Good luck and I’ll be cheering you on!
