Drop- In Delivery: Why Emergency Room Delivery as your first doctor visit is a bad idea
One of the most important stages of any relationship is the “getting to know you” stage.
So true for the doctor/pregnant patient relationship!
Before delivery, here are just a few of the many things the doctor needs to know about you.
* Your blood type and Rh factor
* All the immunizations you have received
* Results of multiple blood tests
* The position of your placenta and baby
* Your complete medical history, including prior pregnancy complications
* Results of your many urine tests and blood pressure readings
* How your baby is growing from your ultrasound and exams
Whew! That’s a lot of stuff!
Without this information, a drop- in delivery in the ER can make a beautiful moment a time of chaos and worry, putting you and your baby at risk.
Make an appointment with an Obstetrician as soon as you find out you are pregnant and keep all appointments.

Your doctor and their staff can’t wait to meet you
… and your "special delivery"!
